About Hutto, TX

Hutto is a small city in Texas that is experiencing tremendous growth. Situated in Williamson County, the city is a part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area and is home to a friendly and vibrant community of people. Over the past decade, it has transformed from a small, rural town to one of the fastest-growing suburbs in Austin.

One of the key reasons for Hutto’s substantial growth has been the availability of high-quality public schools and affordable housing, coupled with the opening of the Texas State Highway 130 - also commonly referred to as the Pickle Parkway - on the Central Texas Turnpike System (CTTS), which connects Austin to San Antonio.

Moderate taxes, low crime rates, and convenient access to the Austin area have resulted in Hutto being regarded by Southern Business & Development Magazine as one of the “Top 100 Places in Major Markets to Locate Your Business”.  Hutto has also been named as the seventh safest city in Texas, according to a Credit Donkey study.

As far as education is concerned, the city offers access to a wide range of excellent education opportunities - from Preschool all the way through College. For primary and secondary students, the Hutto Independent School District offers one high school, two middle schools, and five elementary schools. The district plays an important role in developing community support and involvement by building strong relationships with all kids.

Moreover, the University of Texas and several other universities located in the area have a combined enrollment of more than 140,000 students, providing a steady supply of highly educated to employers in the city. The latest addition, however, is the Hutto Campus of the East Williamson County Higher Education Center.

Situated on a huge master-planned site on Texas State Highway 130, this multi-institutional teaching center includes Texas A&M Central, Temple College, and Texas State Technical College, providing a wide range of workforce readiness programs and educational opportunities not only to Hutto but also the East Williamson County.

The city’s strategic location near Round Rock and Austin offer residents access to many recreational and entertainment opportunities. In addition to having a Splash Pad and four community parks, the other nearby venues residents can visit include Barton Springs Pool, Hawaiian Falls Water Park, Texas State Capitol, LBJ Presidential Library, Zilker Metropolitan Park, Cedar Park Center, Texas State History Museum, among various others.

Hutto also offers an exceptional infrastructure that adequately meets the needs of new residents and businesses. Not only this, but it also enjoys the world’s most advanced telecommunication networks, which spans over 130,000 miles of fiber. After all, there are multiple regional and national fiber companies utilizing the latest technology to provide connections to most industrial sites and major buildings in the city.

The water supply is ample and secure, even during times of severe drought. What is more, is that there are many other projects under construction to keep up with the increasing demands. The city also has its very own wastewater treatment plant that is responsible for managing the wastewater treatment demands of Hutto.
